ABC Design Team Challenge #2

This is the card I made for our Late Night Stampers Convention 2008-09 Challenge of the week. We were to use the A, B, C's!
I chose:
A- Always Artichoke for my paper, using our Hostess Level 1 Patterns Pack of DSP,
B- Best Yet stamp set also from our Hostess Level 1 selections
C- Chipboard small heart from on board upper simon
Squares were punched out using our 1 1/4" square punch, using all the different patterns from the pack.
I used versa mark ink and embossed the lettering with white embossing powder.
I glued paper from the pack to the heart, trimmed it out, sanded and inked the edges and added a small piece of matching ribbon.

I decided to "case" a card in the current SU catty on page 30. I love the colors and only changed it slightly by adding ribbon to the side and eliminating the brad and twine!

Sneak Peak for World Card Making Day Projects

I have been busy putting together some fun ideas for "World Card Making Day" coming up next month.

I will be focusing on one of Stampin' Up's Simply Sent Card Kits, which will be 20% off the week of Oct. 4-11th.

This is really a great value, especially if you do not own a lot of stamping products. The kits come with everything you need to create cards.

It's a great way to "get your hands wet" with rubber stamping! Once you try it, you'll be hooked!

A Pink Birthday and Leftover Cupcakes!

Whenever I make a card, I usually make extra parts. For instance, the little cupcakes here were extras that I stamped/wheeled when I made the Cupcake Card below in my earlier post.

I used the Cupcakes wheel, colored them in with Stampin' Write markers, and then cut them out.

These cards are 3 X 3's, starting with basic black cs, 3 X 6. I then cut my pink at 2 3/4 X 2 3/4. For the middle square; black 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, whisper white 1 1/4 X 1 1/4. I popped the cupcake up with stampin' dimensionals and added the gingham ribbon.

A Cupcake Birthday!

I couldn't wait to play with my latest Stampin'Up order. Here I am using the new Cupcakes Wheel and Elegant Cheer. Don't you just love the new "In Colors"? I have used Pink Pirouette (textured) and Whisper White cs. I also used our new scallop edge punch, and the piercing tool in our Crafter's Tool Kit. I embossed the Happy Birthday greeting, colored in the cupcakes with Stampin'Write markers, and finished it off with some Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon and a little light pink chunky glitter. Hope you like it!

Baby Card

I was recently invited to a baby shower and discovered that I don't own any current baby stamps!!! I did have "Wild About You!" I used soft colors and the giraffe from that set. I distressed the edges for a rag quilt effect. I think it came out beautiful! Oh, and I used crystal effects on his spots for some eye appeal!

I'm loving Riding Hood Red and Bella Rose DSP

I was so afraid that my favorite stamp set, Heartfelt Thanks, would end up on the retired list. Thankfully, it didn't. Here I used it with our new colors, Riding Hood Red cs and ink, one of our new DSP's Bella Rose, our new scallop punch and Pink Pirouette ink. I used my piercing tool to create a "lacy" feel to the scallops, and finished my card with a ribbon and bow.

Using some 4X4 coasters and our new Bella Rose DSP I made a small desk calendar and a statement of the heart plaque. I love how these colors work so well together, don't you?

I stamped and cut out the butterfly from Dreams du Jour stamp set and adhered it with a small glue dot for a 3-D effect. I also used a little dazzling diamonds for eye appeal! Hope all the gals in my "family" love them because it is my special gift to them!

A slight twist here, using Ginger Blossom DSP and Riding Hood Red CS on River Rock. This is showcasing one of our new Hostess Sets, Window Dressing. I used a small piece of Bella Rose DSP and our new scallop punch for the curtain! Also I added a small piece of linen thread around one of the flower pots.

Have I mentioned how proud I am of my recruit and best friend Vicki??? Well, I am! Here is a card she recently designed. Again, it's using our new Bella Rose DSP along with Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss cs and the beautiful Dreams du Jour stamp set. You can't see it here, but dazzling diamonds is used on the letters for an eye appealing look!!! Way to go Vicki!!!
